Necklaces are a gorgeous way to accessorize your neck and your outfit. From the beginning of womankind (and mankind too) we have been adorning our necks with amulets of protection, symbols of our faith, to show cultural, status symbols, and for a beautiful accessory.
I just love the marriage of silver and turquoise. The shimmer and color really set each other off and the way they look on are great. I’m not the only one who has found a love the stone. The Aztecs used it centuries ago, the Pharaoh’s loved it, and so did the French in ancient and modern times.
It is said that turquoise beads are a healing stone for your mind and body. Just the way they look makes me feel good. Besides blue is the trend this year. Even if it wasn’t turquoise is a classic gem that has been used in jewelry for thousands of years.
Remember sneaking into your mom’s jewelry box, the fun of trying all the shinies and wishing they were yours.
I walk down the toy aisle and wish I were a little girl now, with all the dress-up necklaces and sparkling rings. Jewelry I could never afford in real life but could make-believe was real if I was six again.
